College Park is a very suburban/urban college kind of place. The town is home to the famous College Park Aviation Museum, steeped in American history, and enjoys a strong sense of identity through the proximity of the University of Maryland and the Maryland Terrapins sports dynasty. In addition to a great sports program, the University has recently attracted world class faculty to add to the already enviable academic opportunities.
College Park has a year round population of around 25,000 with lots of great parks, shops and easily accessible transportaion. The College Park Metro station is close by with adequate parking for a quick commute into Washington DC. It's near the Washington Beltway, the Baltimore/Washington Parkway and RT 95 north to head around the DC Metro area or north to Baltimore or east to Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay. The neighborhoods feature wide streets, varied architecture, and a lively spirit because of consistent growth. Prince George's County calls itself a "county of livable communities," and College Park is on the top of the list. Eight distinct neighborhoods make up the community of College Park:
- Berwyn Heights
- Calvert Hills
- College Park Estates
- College Park Woods
- Daniels Park
- Hollywood
- Yarrow
